KELSEY CADIEN
Kelsey Cadien is a co-founder of Kelsey & Cambel's Kids Care, Inc., an award-winning nonprofit she launched alongside her younger sister in 2012 to inspire young people to lead through service and compassion. Since childhood, she has helped grow the organization into a movement that mobilizes volunteers, serves families and communities, and empowers the next generation to make a difference through acts of kindness. A graduate of Spelman College with a bachelor's degree in Political Science, Kelsey has complemented her nonprofit leadership with public service experience, including an internship with Houston's 12th District Criminal Court, further strengthening her commitment to civic engagement and community advocacy. Guided by the belief that today's youth will one day care for the world, she envisions expanding Kids Care's impact to more cities, states, and countries while continuing to inspire others to turn compassion into action.
CAMBEL CADIEN
Cambel Cadien is a rising junior at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences on the pre-medical track. She currently serves as Sophomore Class President and is the incoming Junior Class President, where she advocates for her peers and leads initiatives focused on academic enrichment, community engagement, and student well-being. She is a Corrella and Bertram F. Bonner Scholar, having completed over 500 community service hours through sustained civic engagement. Cambel is the co-founder of Kelsey and Cambel’s Kids Care Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to “Compassion in Action,” with international impact spanning Haiti, Ghana, and Afghanistan. She studied abroad in Trinidad and Tobago, where she conducted breast cancer research presented at The University of the West Indies and Spelman College. She aspires to attend medical school and is committed to advancing health equity, research, and global health.
ANNEKE POUNCIL
Anneke Pouncil is a rising senior at Cypress Ridge High School and Lone Star College in Cypress, Texas, where she is completing her Associate of Science degree while graduating in the top 3% of her class. She plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Public Health on the pre-medical track before attending medical school to become a physician. Anneke serves as President of Kelsey and Anneke’s Kids Care Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to putting compassion into action through community service, medical supply drives, and humanitarian outreach. A first-place HOSA Clinical Nursing champion, CPR-certified student, and incoming Patient Care Technician (PCT) intern, Anneke is passionate about improving access to healthcare and addressing health disparities through service, advocacy, and compassionate patient care. She is committed to using medicine and public health to create healthier communities both locally and around the world.
A Note from Mom
I am amazed at the hearts of my girls. They continually try to come up with ideas on just how to help enhance the lives of others. Since they were very little, they have showed Compassion in Action.
I, too, pray that Kids' Care can expand around the world. The goal is to encourage kids to care. Whether it's making sure to check on aging or disabled neighbors, reading to the blind, giving someone who lives alone a smile and a wave, or helping spread awareness about Rhett Syndrome and pediatric cancer, there is something that we all can do.
We will continue to touch as many lives as we possibly can. Kelsey and Cambel are constantly trying to think of other ways to share Compassion in Action. I can't wait to hear what's next!
