Kelsey and Cambel Cadien Day

On July 29, 2025, the City of Houston officially proclaimed Kelsey & Cambel Cadien Day, recognizing the extraordinary service, leadership, and humanitarian impact of sisters Kelsey and Cambel Cadien. Signed by Mayor John Whitmire, the proclamation honors more than a decade of community service through Kelsey & Cambel's Kids Care, Inc. and celebrates their unwavering commitment to improving lives both locally and around the world. City proclamations are among Houston's highest civic honors, recognizing individuals and organizations whose contributions have made a lasting impact on the community.

HONORING A LEGACY OF SERVICE

The City of Houston recognized Kelsey and Cambel Cadien for more than a decade of extraordinary leadership and service through Kelsey & Cambel's Kids Care, Inc. Their work has included distributing more than 25,000 booksthrough literacy initiatives, leading disaster relief efforts across the United States and internationally, supporting families experiencing housing insecurity, and partnering with orphanages in Uganda and Ghana to provide critical resources for children in need. The proclamation also celebrates the organization's national recognition—including a U.S. Congressional Proclamation and the Twelve Days of Christmas, Inc. Legacy Award—as well as its partnerships with organizations such as Hewlett-Packard, Walmart, Home Depot, and Interfaith Ministries, recognizing the sisters as outstanding examples of Houston's spirit of compassion, leadership, and service.
